Introduction to Pilates Reformer

Andrea Skarda

Andrea Skarda is a highly experienced fitness professional with over 17 years in the industry. She is STOTT Reformer Certified and has specialized training in STOTT Pilates Injuries and Special Populations as well as the Pilates Suspension Method. Additionally, Andrea holds an AFAA Group Exercise Instructor Certification.

Andrea graduated from the University of Omaha with a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and initially worked for Omaha Public Schools. Her passion for fitness began when she started taking group exercise classes as a stay-at-home mom, leading her to a fulfilling career in health and movement. Throughout her career, she has taught a diverse range of fitness formats, including barre, Zumba, aqua fitness, SilverSneakers, BodyCombat, and strength training. Andrea is passionate about helping people feel better through movement and loves Pilates systematic approach to building core strength and better functioning bodies.

Outside of teaching, Andrea enjoys being with family, traveling and learning Spanish. During the summer months, she can often be found sailing with her husband, John, and their dog, Bear.

Jennifer Bertucci

Certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor

Jennifer is a STOTT PILATES® Reformer instructor and graduated from UNL with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Science with an emphasis in Exercise Science. She worked as a rehab trainer in Colorado for several years.

Exercise & fitness have always been a daily part of her lifestyle. She enjoys outdoor activities such as running, walking, swimming and anything active. 

Jennifer began practicing Pilates to gain the benefits of a strong core and increase her strength and flexibility as an alternative to high impact strength training. Pilates has helped her become more aware of her posture and areas to improve and challenge within herself.
 
She enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children watching them play sports. Her favorite snack is yogurt dipped pretzels, chocolate covered raisins and a cold fountain diet coke.

Amy Himes

Amy Himes, EdD

Amy Himes brings 25 years of Pilates practice and program design to the fitness profession. She is a Comprehensive Certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor. She is trained in Mat, Reformer, Tower, Chairs, Barrels, Injuries & Special Populations, Total Barre™ Foundations & L1, & CORE Foundations. Amy holds a doctorate in Educational Administration and a Professional Administrative Certificate from the State of Nebraska. Amy is passionate about building the Pilates ecosystem by designing safe, effective, and engaging experiences for Pilates practitioners at all levels. Carolyn Benecke

Certified STOTT PILATES Instructor
Licensed Massage Therapist
Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance
 

Carolyn started taking classes at Pilates Center of Omaha in 2018 to help her with lower back pain, and found that it was just what she needed to become stronger. She loved Pilates so much she decided to take the classes to become a STOTT PILATES Reformer Instructor in 2024. Carolyn isn’t new to movement and the human body- she’s been a massage therapist since 2000, and a yoga teacher since 2015. She teaches restorative yoga on the first and third Sundays of the month here at Pilates Center of Omaha. Pilates has helped her so much with her physically demanding job. It has kept her strong, improved her body mechanics, and prevented injuries. She wants to share this Pilates power with others! She’s passionate about helping people recover from injuries and loves to see their posture and muscles change through doing Pilates.

 

Whenever she has free time, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, biking, kayaking, and spending time with her hubby and puppy

You will learn the STOTT PILATES basic principles, essential level exercises and mechanics of the Pilates equipment to prepare for safe and effective participation in our group classes. Our small size allows for the most in-depth and educational experience with respect to understanding how to efficiently strengthen your core, improve posture and increase flexibility.
