Amy graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from Nebraska Wesleyan in Physical Education and Biology and The University of Nebraska in Omaha with a Master of Arts in Exercise Science. She began her fitness career as an intern in a corporate pharmaceutical facility writing exercise prescriptions, instructing group exercise classes, and nutritional counseling. Additional education Amy has received includes exercise programming for paraplegics and individuals with incontinence and osteoporosis.
Amy has extensive experience in teaching fitness with 29 years as a personal trainer and 15 years of teaching Pilates. Through this experience, Amy has worked with a variety of ages and levels from children to seniors and beginners to athletes. Amy ensures her clients receive well-rounded and challenging workouts with an emphasis on safety, so they feel good when they leave.
Sports have always been an important part of Amy’s life with participation in track and field, volleyball, cross country, basketball, dance, bowling, racquetball, tae kwon do, tennis, and golf. One of her biggest passions includes water skiing. She water skied semi-professionally for 14 years, touring all over the country. Amy’s other favorite activities include swimming, snow skiing, and figure skating. She has a passion for animals and loves running with her dog, playing with her cats and working with a local rescue to control animal breeding.
Her motto is: “Even though she plays a lot of high intensity sports, she believes in balance and the importance of including low impact/low intensity activity. People can be very fit and active with Pilates alone.”
