Katie has always loved being active. Her early years were spent climbing trees, riding horses, and running track. As a horseback riding instructor, she developed a deep interest in core strength and posture, seeing the great benefits it gave her clients and their mounts.
 

In her early twenties, health issues that weakened her body led her to yoga and she became an instructor in 2015. As her strength returned, Katie wanted to challenge herself and build muscle but found that after a couple of weeks of high impact training she was overly sore or injured and mentally burned out. One day, her boyfriend showed her a couple of videos where professional athletes were using Pilates in their weekly trainings. He explained that many athletes do Pilates because it is a low impact form of exercise and good for injury prevention and strength development. This intrigued her and she decided to learn more. She reached out to Pilates Center of Omaha then signed up for a STOTT Reformer training. What happened next she describes as “falling in love and finding my passion” all at once. In Pilates, Katie has found an amazing combination of toning, strengthening, stretching, and gentle exercise that is both engaging and FUN.

 

With a background as a horseback riding instructor, yoga teacher, and health coach, her desire is to create an experience during her lessons, where her client can feel calm, supported, present, and thoroughly worked out. One of her favorite things about being a Pilates instructor is helping her clients discover their own bodies in a new way (especially their CORE!) and celebrate with them as they reach their health and fitness goals.

This fun, high energy class offers a great combination of strengthening and cardiovascular exercises on the Pilates Reformer and CardioTramp® complemented by arm, thigh and bum toning exercises at the Barre.  Work up a sweat, torch some serious calories and most importantly have fun while you're at it!
